What got you into Flair Bartending?
I met a couple of bartenders that were really good. I thought it looked like fun and decided to take my bartending to the next level.
How did you start out learning to Flair?
In the beginning I broke a lot of bottles. Then I found Flairco bottes and really started practicing.
What do you hope to get out of Flair?
I would like to make myself a better overall bartender. As well as, compete and continue to meet bartenders from all over the world.
What is your favorite Flair Bartending competition and why?
My favorite comp is the Ultimate Flair Bartending Championship in Las Vegas. It has a very laid back atmosphere not to mention it's held at my favorite bar in the world - Carnaval Court.
What are some common myths about the profession of Flair bartending?
That flair bartenders are just jugglers who can't make a quality drink. That we spill and break bottles often.
How often do you practice?
I practice flair bartending for 2-3 hours a day. I work behind the bar 9 hours a day. You do the math.
What is your advice to some of the new people starting Flair behind their bar for the first time?
Only show move you can hit every time. The most important quality is to have more fun the anybody else and the tips will come.
Tell us about your first Flair Competition and your experiences there, What were you feeling, Did everything go as planned?
King of the Ring 3 was my first comp. Although I forgot my entire routine it was still the most fun I have ever had. This competition was a big stepping stone towards the bartender I am today. I wouldn't have traded this experience for anything.
